The origins :
This small family run winery was created by Jean Versino in the early 1950's. In the beginning the wine was made in the cellar and sold to a wine merchant. Little by little with his son Jean Paul they developed a market and started bottling wines for private clients.
Due to the successive purchase of fields throughout Châteauneuf du Pape, the business started growing. Our fields have different orientations, north, south, west, and east facing. Also different types of soils like stones, clay, sand, sandstone, and limestone which helps us to make rich and complex wines. We use all 13 grape varieties allowed in the appellation of Châteauneuf du Pape.
By letting our vines grow old and not replacing them, gives us a much better quality with less yield. Our vines have an average age of 50 years old.
We have 10 hectares (25 acres) in 27 different fields all in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation.
